To install a different version simply append the version to the end of the package with an symbol. As of this writing it is MySQL version 8.0. This will install the most recent version of the package available on Brew. With Homebrew installed it is a simple matter to install MySQL. Once the install is complete go ahead and run an update to test that everything is working correctly.
